Orange Shirt Day / National Day for Truth & Reconciliation

Wednesday August 28

Orange Shirt Day is a statutory holiday in Manitoba. It is a day to reflect on the history and legacy of residential schools as well as the lives of survivors and those who never made it home.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation honors Survivors and the children who never returned home, their families and communities. The date of September 30, which aligns with Orange Shirt Day, is an opportunity for Canadians to learn, reflect and participate in educational and commemorative activities.

In respect for Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, South Interlake Regional Libraries will be closed on September 30.
